2010.08. - BDays, Golf, Torch - back to Austria

"Sachertorte" for Julia

And 5 days later another one for me.
No problem for our super cooks.

chocolate - marzipane - apricot marmelade - a combination of flavours almost impossible to beat

We made a birthday trip ... - no, not to Salzburg where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born - but to Krems.
I liked the way this facade was decorated with tiny mosaics anyway.
Annie liked the cake.

After the city sightseeing we spent some time in the park of Grafenegg, famous for its international summer music festivals ...

... and rounded off a nice day in a restaurant - "Gut Oberstockstall in Kirchberg am Wagram.

Location and food excellent - service not so good.

We had to wait for every dish almost an hour, even after many reminding hints - with 3 courses it added up to be a long sitting session.

This time - due to the nice weather - we did not really mind.

There was one more Inn we visited without the kids - Magdalenenhof am Bisamberg in Vienna.

The dishes offered were local & fantastic - prepared by an Austrian celebrity cook, Reinhard Gerer.

Most of our activities at home revolved around fire.
Here roasting bacon....

... and then we had a "Torch Project":
