Annie found some time to rock and roll too.
But only after she did her hunting for butterflies and other insects ....
.... jumped on the tramboline ...

... and played her favourite cardboard game, Ubongo with Omi.

We went swimming until the last day of vacation.
Annie made sure that I documented it with pictures.

Everybody seems to be happy and busy for hours.
Here are some of the flashbacks of our visits:

The kids had two trips with Omi and Opa during vacation.
One was to the Vienna Zoo in Schönbrunn.
There were many animals they liked. Here are two pictures of a lion taking a nap and a fish with an exceptionally ugly nose.

Tiberius, who later became emperor, erected a fortified winter camp in the Carnuntum area in the year 6 AD – thereby founding one of the most important cities within the roman empire. Buildings have been recreated down to the last detail, entertaining stories about their inhabitants of 2000 years ago.

Our summer vacation 2009 came to an end. It was one of the best - lots of time with family and friends, great weather, new places to see and no tight, rigid timetable to follow.
We left Austria, ready to tackle the challenges of the new school year - 1st Grade for Annie - 4th Grade for Daniel - 6th Grade for Julia.

But before we faced more complex problems, the first one to solve was how to get rid of the bananas I left on the kitchen counter when we left for 5 weeks summer vacation, with the least physical contact and maximum speed.
