2009.08. - Balaton & Budapest

We took some short trips within Hungary.

One of them was to Budapest to visit the Samuels - Judit, Robert, Rebecca and Alex.

After taking in enough calories, we went on a city tour and a full day swimming the next day.

... with a view of the setting sun over Hungary's capital city.

We could not leave Hungary without seeing Lake Balaton again.

And we did definitely more than "just saw the lake".
The children jumped in at 1pm and reluctantly left the shallow water at 8pm after many of my repeated threats and warnings of leaving them behind.

The part we enjoyed most was taking the pedal boat far away from the shore and swimmers, into the deep waters of the lake, where we met only sailboats occasionally.

There we took off our bathing suit and swam naked!

You will not see any of those pictures of course.

Susu accompanied us on this trip. First we checked out a sailing course at a club for the kids.

The next one a half hour we spent struggling to fix the car door which Annie yanked out of its socket while trying to escape Daniel's justified anger yet again. Without success.
Luckily, we found a certified car engineer at the first gas station we stopped at.

All in all, we had a wonderful day in Balatonföldvar.

And a very muddy one too, playing with the fine but firm dark sand.

Saying good-by to the lake was not easy but having one or two traditional "palacsinta" & "langos" before we left "sweetened" our departure a bit .
