2009.02. - Preparations for Spring & Wedding

Although snow is covering (again) the streets outside - except where Annie moves into action - stronger sunrays, longer days and the louder chirping of the birds are encouraging us to start preparations for Easter and Spring.

We started with Table Decoration. I provided the material. The kids came up with the cheerful design.



Speaking of Preparations - 2009 will be the year of an official happy end /beginning to a long lasting relationship. Lutz proposed. Laura accepted. And we are thrilled but still have to figure out how to get to at least one of the wedding ceremonies - in Riga or in Canberra.

For now we made a little contribution by searching for the right dress for the bride. By using Fashion and Make-Up Designer Coloring Books not only the girls but also Daniel presented some ideas. Annie moved her whole wardrobe downstairs to find the right color which matched Laura's complexion best.

We all voted in favor of bright red and Chinese style.


After getting enthusiastic about a special event it was quite difficult to face reality and the boring but necessary chores.
I even got Daniel to clean up his room - after he had been trying to blow out the flying dust from his room while lying on his back on his room's threshold, claiming that Julia's cleaning activities only make his room dirtier!

Even Kiwi & Sky got their cage cleaned up!







I always take the time to enjoy the sight of a cleaned-up and tidy kid's room because I know - it takes only a couple of minutes before "organised chaos" takes place again.
When it does, it looks for example like this:

Daniel and Annie spent an hour to build up this indoor tent.

They were also determined to sleep "in it" but after an hour of bumping into chair legs and having blankets fall upon them we had to transfer them to their normal bed (:).

Nevertheless, like truly committed explorers they insisted on trying again in the next couple of days - with the same result.
