2008.07.25. - Next stop: Lower Austria, Omi & Opa`s House

We returned to Austria after a 10 day period in Hungary and had some adjustments to do.
The peak of summer was over - it rained for days and the top temperatures dropped to 17C. That is 20 degrees below of those the week before.

Fortunately, we did lots of summer activities before our trip to
Hungary.

Hung out at the pool.

Went inline skating

Found a 10 km inline skating route cutting through fields and little towns which we covered with Norbert both ways - without the kids.

The route was great, still took us 3 hours to finish the lap since we had to tiptoe over some major construction sites (future highways) which sprung up recently all along the route.

Our misfortune has proved it, every cloud has a silver lining.
Because we were delayed, we never caught up with the summer storm which kept rolling across the land in front of us.

We could simply follow the rainbow.

Daniel took some tennis lessons and was really happy with his trainer this year.

Accordingly, he learnt very fast
and when he needed he always got some support from his Opa.

I wish Norbert had more of this - just sitting and reading.

But since I injured my leg, he had to take over all the driving and transportation of the kids.

Especially for Annie it was very important to have someone holding her friend, Kimi on a tight leash.

If Norbert wouldn`t have been more stubborn than the Shetland pony, the little (but astonishingly strong) horse would have just grazed the whole time.

Daniel and Julia needed a more qualified person, Nora to teach them the secrets of horse riding.

And she did a very good job.

That's why we tried to watch their lessons so closely with Annie every time.

Daniel got as far as galloping after practically 3 times half an hour and still appeared to know what he was doing.

Julia continued to fine tune her (muscles and mental) skills to control the horse while riding free.

On the last day of our stay Omi and Opa treated the kids to a visit to the cinema (Kung Fu Panda).
Norbert "tied up the last strings of his business hanging loose".
And I packed up our stuff to move on to the Alps next day.

I have never gone on a hiking holiday in the mountains with useless ankle. I sure hope they have enough nice pastry shops in the village.
