2009.04. - Easter Break in Germany

J&D flew to Austria for the Easter Break. But we had no time to miss them ...
It was Spring after all!

We had enough plans to go to places and to do things than time before they return!

First we had to do something about the garden.

Annie helped.

Picked out a couple of nice flowers at the garden shop and helped to plant them.

Then she had another, more pleasant task - hunting for easter eggs ...

... without competition and ...
... with great success.

In the next couple of days we went on several day trips.

The first stop was the "Steinbrueckerteich" in Darmstadt, a nice recreational area.

The weather was too perfect inviting too many people to do the things we wanted to do - which meant waiting lines everywhere.
We had to skip boating this time.

But we did wait for the pony riding successfully half an hour to walk with any 15 minutes through the forest. She says it was worth it.

We also made it to the front of the line at the ice-dealer - as you can see ...

... and got to the cashier on the mini-golf course too.

Daddy explained the basic technique ...

... and Annie tried to apply it - more or (rather) less (:).

At the end of the day we all deserved a nice meal and consumed it happily as soon as it left the grill!

Next day we visited the Opel Zoo.
The pictures below are all typical except for the ones with the Easter Eggs.

Traditionally, the Zoo sets up an Easter Egg Garden for the kids to hunt for eggs.

And this was Lochmühle...

... the last stop of our Easter Adventure Tour.

A question was going around in my mind before J&D left - how will it be with one child after being used to have three ?

The answer is - less argument BUT ALSO less laughter.

Children need children - not just adults.
I am glad our children have each other and that we have them.
