2009.07. - off to the "South"

Summer vacation begins for me as soon as we all sit in the car or plane with a clear holiday destination. Then I can relax.

And nothing can ruin this feeling.

Not even an infected nail.
Or the 5 bananas I left back on the kitchen counter for 5 summer weeks.
Or Julia's loose tooth which fell out in the car.



It is always very nice to travel from Germany to the South.
On the first day in Austria we had 37C, that is what I call summer.



Even with millions of mosquitos getting especially irritating late afternoon.

Daniel tried to stay tough and bear the consequences until we equipped ourselves with mosquito spray.

Building campfire every evening also kept the flying beasts away. Probably the neighbours too since they haven't complained yet.


We roasted bread and marshmallows.
Sang our favourite camp fire songs.

Played in the dark with glowing wooden sticks.



















Celebrated Omi's birthday with a nice meal which we waited for - covering 2 courses - 3 hours.
But the surrounding was very nice - right at the Danube. And the meals very tasty.

Experimented with Daniel's birthday present - helicopter with remote control - which never worked, was too fragile and had to be returned unfortunatelly at the end.




Sat and read in the garden ...






.... or just sat in the garden and enjoyed the sun



It is so good to know that we have more than 4 weeks like this still ahead of us !
