2009.06. - Summer Hockey

Saturday afternoon - women and children of the Rahn and Meister family gathered in Nierstein bei the Rhein while the men took their motorcycle for a ride.

The location of the house is just amazing - on the edge of a small, pretty settlement right next to wine hills and fields with grazing horses.

Annie and Katharina took off right away to visit the playground nearby and count butterflies.

Julia requested to be tested on her knowledge about the human skeleton as preparation for her upcoming school test.
Bettina offered to do the job.


The boys devoted themselves to their favourite theme - war and fighting strategies.

After they practiced their skills on computer, they built their own troops and battlefields.


Soon they discovered the little ripe strawberries in the garden and started a collective race -

- which meant collecting the most number of berries either directly from the bushes

- or -

taking them away from the others.

There was only one game which brought more laughter than this - playing "icehockey" on the street.



























The fact that I caught Bettina laughing too, proved to me that we definitely ranked again far ahead of "the worst guests you can imagine" on the scale!

She even revealed to me her secret recepie to make Pizza.
Pour 1 coffee cup of warm water on 2 packs of dry yeast and stir.
Add and beat in flower until dough materializes.
Tear in two halves which will make two round pizzas normal size.
Grease pizza plates with margarine.
Spread dough on plate and cover it with tomato puree.
Sprinkle some pizza spice on top (from Ubena Pizza Gewürz Italienisch).
Add 1 package of grated cheese.
Add what you wish (tomato slices, salami, tuna, oliven, spinach, goat cheese ...)
Drop small pieces of half a mozzarella on top
Sprinkle with Oregano
Bake it for 20-25 mins in oven with hot-air.
